Music for Life is an innovative, not for profit organisation established in 1995 to promote and arrange instrumental music tuition in Cheshire’s schools.

Our main aim is simple: to offer as many young people as possible the opportunity to learn a musical instrument successfully within school, and to introduce them to the truly life-enhancing dimension that music making can bring.

To achieve this, Music for Life offers a highly organized, coordinated and quality controlled structure which enables students to be taught by some of the very best teachers in the North West. There are also opportunities for MfL students to take part in exciting, motivational music groups, workshops and concerts free of extra charge. Bursaries are available to help with the cost of tuition for students facing financial disadvantage. Currently, well over 3,000 young people from around 110 primary and secondary schools in the county are members of the scheme, having instrumental music lessons every week in school.”

We believe that Music for Life offers something utterly different and uniquely special to Cheshire schools that wish to offer their pupils the opportunity to learn a musical instrument, and to their students who wish to develop a life long interest in music. Solo is a music shop company started by Dave Bishop in 1998. His plan was to mould the company into a one-stop music shop for all musical instruments, audio equipment, stage lighting, effects and entertainment products. Due to the quality of products and service (both before and after-sale), Solo music shop expanded and this plan quickly came to fruition. In 2002 the music shop relocated to its present premises, which cover 3,500 sq ft, and is open from 9.00-5.30, Monday-Saturday. It now has a comprehensive product list, covering every aspect of the music, events and entertainment industry. Life Is Music is an independent business run by professional musicians and Djs who understand the necessity for quality, correct advice, fast, professional service and after-sale backup if things do happen to go wrong with musical instruments, audio equipment, lighting or anything else we sell.
